Great and very different viewpoint makes the cat look huge and like a predator

Photo 2 offers a different viewpoint and makes the cat appear larger & more threatening than a fluffy kitten usually does. It also makes the cat look the king of the territory he is walking on, rather than being lost in it. The cat is clearly the feature of the photo.
Photo1 I like, but it loses because the shrubbery is A/ too dark and B/ hides too much of the structure. In this case, I think it is the lighting that has let the photo down. Perhaps the photographer should have chosen a viewpoint with less shadow and also moved further to the right to avoid the palm trees .
The photo gives me the feeling of being on the same level as the cat.
